Psychoeducational Assessments - Now Offering!
Psychoeducational assessments provide detailed information about different abilities. These assessment typically include a comprehensive evaluation of a child/adolescent’s intellectual abilities, cognitive/learning processes (such as memory, executive functions, phonological processing), and academic achievement. The main objectives are usually to better understand a child’s cognitive and academic strengths and needs and to provide direction for caregivers and schools regarding appropriate interventions/supports for challenges identified. This type of assessment may or may not lead to a diagnosis (e.g., learning disorder, cognitive impairment, ADHD).

Psychodiagnostic Assessments
Psychodiagnostic assessments refer to a comprehensive psychological assessment focused on a child’s social-emotional and behavioural functioning. This type of assessment can lead to the diagnosis of a mental health disorder (e.g., whether a child is struggling with a specific mood, anxiety, or trauma-related disorder) if applicable. Such assessments can help families better understand their child or adolescent’s struggles and provide options for treatment. Psychodiagnostic assessments are sometimes sought to provide necessary information to support formal accommodations within school or other settings. These assessments may include a semi-structured interview and the completion of questionnaires and other psychological measures. The length of time involved and subsequent fee for service depends on the purpose and nature of the assessment. If you are interested in obtaining a psychodiagnostic assessment for your child or teenager, please contact me to discuss further.
Please note that I do not offer the following assessments:
Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnostic assessment
Child access/custody assessments, including parenting capacity assessments
